We’re requesting that all patients wear a mask for the initial health screening. Of course, we’ll have you take off your mask for your dental appointment.

We’ve added a health screening station to get some basic information about symptoms, recent travel, and the possibility of exposure to individuals with Covid-19. The disclosure questionnaire takes a couple of minutes to complete.

Touchless Thermometers

During your health screening we will take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. We want to be sure that we minimize the risk of exposure for our patients and team members. If your temperature exceeds 100.4° F, we will work with you to reschedule your dental appointment.

Plexiglass Safety Barrier

Upon check-in, you’ll notice that our front desk now has a tall plexiglass barrier to keep us all as healthy as possible. Check-ins and check-outs will be ultra quick for you.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 

We’ve added extra PPE including face shields, N95 masks, and surgical caps. We are quick to swap out layers of PPE between each and every patient.

Washable Lab Coats

In addition to the PPE, we’ve added extra layers to our everyday protective measures including gowns and washable lab coats.

Under the face shields, masks, and gowns, we’re smiling through it all. We understand you’ve been waiting to get in for your regularly scheduled appointments and appreciate every ounce of patience as we navigate the “new normal.”

What would happen if I had a fever or felt sick before or on the day of my appointment?

Prior to the day of your appointment, you will receive a phone call to go over a series of screening questions. The screening is very easy, just 7 questions. At that time, we will ask you to please contact us if any of your answers change between the phone screening and the day of your appointment. So, if you are not feeling well or have any questions, please give us a call and we can talk through it.

Will my appointment run longer than usual?

Yes, there is a chance that your appointment may take a little longer than normal.  The additional screening and additional safety protocols lengthen our appointments by approximately 5-15 minutes.

I have read the forms you sent me and I see I am supposed to wear a mask when I enter the office. What if I do not have a mask?

If you do not have a mask for your dental appointment, we will provide one for you as soon as you enter the building.

Is the office disinfected?

We have always had high standards of OSHA and proper disinfection; however, we have now added even more to our daily routines. This includes monitoring and routinely wiping down frequently touched surfaces and common areas; such as, door handles, pens, phones, clipboards, bathrooms, cabinet handles, and our photocopier.  After every patient enters the building, the door handles (including the outside one) are wiped down. We have temporarily closed our coffee bar, removed magazines, and sadly, we have also removed the kids play area.

What measures is the staff taking to assure they remain healthy?

As soon as we enter the building, our temperatures are taken and we answer the screening questions. We follow all the same guidelines we ask our patients to.  We practice social distancing, frequent hand washing in the office and we wear a mask at all times (except at lunch). After lunch time, our temperatures are taken again. We have been asked to carefully monitor our own health and if we do not feel well, we are to stay home. These are our guidelines every single day to ensure your safety and health, as well as, our own and our community as a whole.

What are you doing to ensure that you and your employees are following the necessary safety precautions?

All of our staff has gone through a COVID- 19 training.  We have rewritten portions of our handbook to make sure that our employees are accountable for implementing our new safety measures. Here at Fisher Family Dental we have always enforced accountability between all team members.

Can I just stop in to the office to purchase whitening or something else I may need? Can I stop in to make an appointment?

We always want to see our wonderful patients, so the answer is YES!  However, we do ask that you please give us a call from the parking lot before entering the office.  That will allow us to follow the guidelines and also be able to practice social distancing.  Remember to bring your mask if you are wanting to come in. 😊
